The dire wolf is a versatile Wild Shape that can benefit both the druid and their party. This will give you a bonus action to take a bite out of them. The target must succeed on a strength saving throw or be knocked prone. Pounce on a target by rushing twenty feet at them and smashing them with a hit.You want to use the Pack Tactics ability, if a member of your team is within five feet of an enemy and about to get wacked, it’ll trigger the pack mentality of this creature.With the desire to keep your friends safe, this will give you advantage on attack rolls.Great at teamwork, its allies become part of its pack and it’s willing to do what it takes to keep them safe. Strengths: It’s a good Wild Shape that’s offered early in the game. A druid that chooses the velociraptor as their wild shape can use the skills of this ancient creature to slash and bite their targets. The velociraptor may be classified as a tiny creature in size, but this little guy can really cause some damage if the enemy isn’t careful. It can use its hooves as a melee weapon and can cause a bit of bludgeoning damage to one target. Now, the draft horse may not be your go to creature for battling, but that doesn’t mean it's defenseless.If you have been separated from your party and don’t have any teleportation abilities, you can use the Wild Shape of the draft horse to find your way back to the group. This large beast can also traverse the land at a very speedy pace.As a draft horse, you’ll be able to carry them until they’re able to be healed. Druids are usually able to heal their allies, but there are tough situations and sometimes your companions do something stupid and get hurt at the worst possible time – like when there's no way to heal them. You want to help your party carry a heavy load or even injured or exhausted party members. ![]() Strengths: Great for speedy travel or if you and your party did something to get chased out of town, running away as a draft horse is a good option. So then, what’s so important about this Wild Shape? Well, if you’re a kind druid that wants to literally support your party, you can carry more weight and increase your traveling pace. In fact, the draft horse is basically useless in battle. The surviving parrotbear, far from dissuaded, charged its foes but soon rejoined its mate as worms’ food.Draft horses aren’t good for battle, so don’t use them for that. Varis and Flyzus shot at range the wounded beast, killing it. One parrotbear moved directly through it, taking full damage, while the other circled around. First, Droidoc cast a S pike Growth spell. The pair was moving directly toward them so the PCs prepared for battle. Walking through the dense vegetation, the PCs spotted two parrotbears (4) a mere 200 feet away. Day 8, morning (end of session) Parrotbears (4)! Jungle- Combat A moment later, after a quick melee, the severely wounded Girallon tried to flee but the PCs, as usual, were having none of it. Varis poisoned bolt hampered greatly the monstrous 4-armed ape’s combat ability. Setting camp attracted the attention of a local resident. They were a day’s walk from this Firefinger they wished to find. Now the PCs had got out of the river and hid their canoe expertly. (3) 6 arms is better than 4 Jungle – Camp – Combat The confusing battle left once again the PCs as victors. The Boots I Needed River – CombatĪ huge Constrictor Snake sprang from under the water and tried to get away with one passenger but ever-alert Droidoc reacted quickly, shapeshifting into a snake himself. The PCs killed the creatures and kept going, less a pint or two of blood. Rapids in the river forced the PCs to portage again but while they were getting their canoe out of the water, two Giant Leeches attacked them. Unfortunately, none of them had any means to understand or communicate with the frogman. Droidoc, Halfling Druid (circle of the moon), Outlander was there when Camp Righteous fell, now he’s a cannibalistic loonyĭay 7 Angry Green Grippli (1) River – N-C encounterīrandishing a stick and yelling at them, the green grippli standing on a rock didn’t seem too happy to see the PCs.Varis, Drow Rogue (thief), Far traveller exiled scion of a noble family on the losing side of a feud.Flyzus, Wood Elf Ranger (hunter), Outlander sole survivor of his tribe after an orc invasion.The PCs are now very near their objective (the grippli village of Three Cascades) but they’ve decided to sidetrack a little, following the clues found on a dead explorer that pointed to a place called « Firefinger ».
